Cabochon Cutting
The term cabochon actually means a non-faceted stone or gem. In this class, you will learn the basics of how to cut cabochons, both calibrated as well as freeform styles, how to use, care for and clean the equipment for best performance.

Faceting
The student is taught the fundamentals of faceting and should complete 3 different cuts: round brilliant, emerald and marquise.

Silversmithing
This technique is used when one takes a flat piece of metal and by means of various types of hammers, stakes and other simple tools, transforms the metal into jewelry pieces. This class will teach basic soldering skills and fabrication using sterling silver.

Wire Wrapping
From basic to advanced Wiring Wraps for cabochons, wire weaving, creating bezels, rings and bracelets. Viking Knit instruction is also available. This beautiful, traditional Scandinavian weave is centuries old and made with fabric as well as fine wire.

Start Creating
All classes are self-paced and held throughout the year. Convenient morning, evening and weekend classes are available. Contact the class instructor to make arrangements. The instructor will provide a list of tools and material that will be needed or provided.
Classes require a $20 CFMGS annual membership. The self-paced classes are $6/hour. Scheduled event classes are priced by the instructor (see the Calendar for these courses).
